After conducting over 200 interviews, we have determined Restaurants, caterers, and institutions want to source nutrient-dense and high-quality local foods to meet self-imposing sustainability goals. However, there is a gap in the market of suppliers who can consistently produce year-round quality harvests of nutritious, premium local produce – especially with niche products.
That’s where VertiGreens comes in. We are building a local scalable network of vertical hydroponic farms. We are going to start with 3 controlled environment shipping containers. This method is a cost-effective MVP while allowing us to grow the equivalent of 3.6 acres of land per container.
