Treebute

Memorial trees are a meaningful and long-lasting gift for many occasions – happy or sad.  Trees can also be time-consuming to source, expensive to purchase, and laborious to plant.   Treebute is an e-commerce website that allows users to easily navigate beautiful trees/product images, quickly filter hundreds of trees to a few highly recommended options, add to the shopping cart, and – most importantly – allows for the creation of a private ‘campaign’ so others can contribute to this shared gift. Donors can then receive updates on their gift, such as a final photo of the installation.

Once a Treebute has been purchased and fully funded, we ship the Recipient a Care Package including a yard stick to mark their spot, an Intro Letter detailing the type of tree and donor names, a booklet explaining the next steps, and a questionnaire so we know where to plant.

A few important differentiators:

1)  Treebute only plants on private property; most parks have their own Master Plan with limited opportunity to select a tree off their pre-determined list, and limited say on where you want your tree planted.

2) Treebute only plants hearty, more mature trees.  Because the last thing anyone wants is a memorial tree to die.

3) Aforementioned “hearty”, “more mature” trees are expensive. The average all-in $500-$600 price tag [including installation and tax] is more than most individuals want to spend. The ‘campaign’ option is a great way for a group to go in on a gift.
