The Doctors’ Lounge

Progression through medical education is incredibly expensive and uncertain, and medical education curricula inadequately prepare students to make well-informed, independent career decisions. This is particularly true for matters of personal finance and choosing a medical specialty based on non-medicine factors. Thus, when approaching these decisions, trainees experience significant, debilitating anxiety.

The solution I’m proposing is called The Doctors’ Lounge. This subscription based educational platform will utilize short instructional videos to illustrate non-medical topics to medical students. Content will focus on personal finance, career development, and residency (medical specialty) selection. This solution is lovable because it will help students navigate anxiety-inducing, difficult to reverse career decisions through the process of using a familiar and centralized educational format (think Kahn academy, etc.).
