Soy Sensor
Around 3.31 million people have a peanut allergy in the USA. These symptoms vary from swelling, itching, wheezing, redness, etc. There are certain tool kits that test substances for soy but would be inconvenient to carry around. I plan to develop a handheld scanner that can detect the chemical compounds of soy in foods. The scanner uses bioengineered antibodies that target the soy chemical compounds and alert the person if they find any. I am a Marketing major looking for other students who are interested in Bioengineering to help me fully design the product, and possibly other marketing students to help me create a financial model.
