Providers have the added benefits of staying home with their children and expensing home costs, but they face steep barriers to entry including complicated regulation and high startup costs. SecondHome seeks to solve this crisis by creating a platform that both empowers individuals to seamlessly start and operate their own in-home childcare center and connects parents to nearby centers. Operations such as billing, parent communications, check-ins, and more will all be housed within the app, allowing the provider to focus on what matters most- providing quality childcare. By providing financial assistance, SecondHome can target childcare deserts where the shortage of providers is the worst.
