RealFoodRealLate

“RealFoodRealLate,” an integrated platform that aims to address food waste in restaurants and late-night starvation that students experience when they finish their exhausting studies at night. We collect a variety of cuisines made from local restaurants’ unsold dishes that would normally be thrown away at the time of their closing and deliver them to college campuses for a discounted price. Our main differentiation from delivery platforms is that we especially focus on solving students’ lack of availability of restaurant food late at night, through opening late into the night and setting pickup locations on campus that are more convenient for students to access. While on-campus vendors offer food services, it is usually limited to certain stations and time slots, therefore we choose operating hours that avoid those of school cafeterias and kitchens. By taking advantage of St. Louis restaurants’ unused ingredients, we reduce local food waste and contribute to environmental protection.
