Residential electricity consumers do not feel in control of their electric bill. They perceive it as a fee or tax they pay each month. Currently, 83 million residential AMI smart meters in the U.S. collect data every 15 minutes. Even though smart meter data allows optimization of energy efficiency programs, consumers still lack the insights they need to control their electric bills and utilities struggle to incentivize specific consumers to adopt energy efficient solutions.

Qilo connects residential consumers to personalized insights from their smart meter. Qilo segments consumers based on electricity usage characteristics to locate potential deployment of cost-effective energy solutions. Electricity usage is gamified to consumers to encourage adoption of energy solutions.

Based on initial research, it is anticipated that consumers will save 25% on their electric bill on average, reduce carbon emissions by greater than 4%, and individually add 0.4 to 4.0 kW of demand flexibility.
