PassBack: Where Sports Meets Sustainability

Every year in the U.S., over 170 million pairs of athletic footwear wind up in landfills. Meanwhile, there are millions of kids who are waiting for the opportunity that a pair of sports cleats brings. PassBack is a digital platform for circular reuse of sports equipment. We collaborate with sports brands, recycling plants, and communities to provide convenience and savings through a streamlined process. We begin by specifically targeting soccer initiatives currently processing the excess equipment as a side project with extensive effort and minimal resources. Through digital crowdfunding (like charity: water) and recycling techniques (like Nike Grind), we provide basic-need opportunities to kids, reduce plastic in landfills, and drive local community engagement.
