New IUD
Despite there being over 15 different birth control options that are currently FDA approved, there is still significant room for improvement in these devices. According to the CDC, 47% of women who have used at least one method of contraception have discontinued using a method due to dissatisfaction. The idea is to reimagine the non-hormonal copper IUD to become a more uterus friendly shape, and to expand on the current attempts to improve IUDs by creating a biodegradable option to eliminate the need for a second invasive procedure. Ideally, this would be expanded to provide customizable options as no uterus is the same or requires the same remedy.
