Our chocolate is made with cacao from Haiti, Colombia, Uganda, and Peru. We are chocolate makers in solidarity with our cacao farmers through pledging to pay a premium for all cacao purchased. Many cacao farmers are not afforded electricity, internet, or running water. In 2021 alone we paid $2.47/kg at farmgate pricing for 4 tons of cacao. Giving these hard-working families a better life is our purpose.
Our sole sweetener is raw wildflower honey. A few positives in using honey compared to traditional cane sugar include a roughly 1.5 -2 time multiple in sweetness, a lower glycemic index of 55 compared to 68, and trace amounts of beneficial enzymes, vitamins, minerals. Honeymoon purchases directly from local beekeepers and donates to the Pollinator Partnership annually to support honeybee research.
