Article 26 is the personal finance platform synthesizing financial literacy and personal money management tools. It features a gamified, AI-powered mentor, Berry the Budgeter, who aims to destigmatize personal finance as an anxiety-inducing topic by providing encouragement and guidance. The platform leverages human psychology via cognitive behavioral therapy and intrinsic/extrinsic motivation to achieve habit changes in its users. Users can join public Reddit-like forums for advice and create or join invite-only neighborhoods to achieve goals with their friends and more closely connect with others with similarities. Rather than merely providing resources to learn about personal finance, our goal is to aid in the development of users’ financial capability, which governmental institutions cite as the “combination of financial knowledge, skills, attitudes, and confidence that leads to positive financial behaviors and money management decisions that fit the circumstances of one’s life.”
